The ARK
North Somercotes

The club had its inaugural meeting on Wednesday 26th March 2004, which was held at the www.bacchushotel.co.uk/ in Sutton on Sea, Lincolnshire.
Why was the club named the "Fossils" Gentlemen's Club? Well the reason was a very simple one. One of our members has two Grandchildren who referred to him and his wife as fossil one and fossil two. As with so many young people today they think that anyone over the age of fifty as being old and past it. We as a group of old boys, decided we were very much alive, and based on this fact we decided to form a club, and raise money for good causes and charities.
To become a member of the "Fossils" Gentlemen's Club you have to be at least 55yrs of age, and the membership is open to anyone over this age regardless of where he resides.
The club members meet for lunch the last Wednesday in each month at the Bacchus Hotel, Sutton on Sea, in Lincolnshire. The Bacchus Hotel is now the home base for the club. We invite speakers to join us for lunch. Many of these speakers do not charge the club for their time. Very often though, if the speaker is from a particular charity, the club will make a donation to that charity.
We run various events thoughout the year, and now regard ourselves in the role of facilitators to all charities and good causes, by virtue of the fact we invite every charity to take part in the events that we organize.
Our aim is to run at least four major events during the course of each year, and so far, we have achieved this.
Since the club started in 2004 we have raised collectively in excess of £18,000 or USD $36,000.
The "Fossils" were the first club to organize a collection for the South East Asian Tsunami Appeal in Lincolnshire.
